The responsibilities of Fribourg Tourism and Region are based on the new Cantonal Tourism Act of 8 October 2021.
The role of regional tourism organisations is governed by Article 13:

Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of regional tourism organisations are as follows:
a) to participate in the development of the tourism strategy of the region to which they belong;
b) to coordinate and implement tourism marketing and promotional activities at regional level;
c) to promote tourism based on high-quality visitor services and compatible with the expectations of both visitors and the local population, particularly through the development of tourism products and services in accordance with the principles of sustainable development;
d) to provide visitor reception and assistance services;
e) to promote the natural, historical, cultural and traditional assets within their area of activity;
f) to operate, signpost or supervise public facilities that contribute to tourism development and enhance the quality of visitors’ stays;
g) to organise or support tourism-related activities, events and other public occasions.
