On request Fribourg Tourism organizes guided tours of the cathedral.
The general visit of the cathedral (1 hour) includes the visit of: the altar, the stalls, the chapel of St-Sépulcre and the church windows.
Guided visit of the organs (1 h)
The organ tour of the cathedral includes the discovery of the two historical organs of the St. Nicholas Cathedral. The cathedral houses a choir organ from 1654 (Sebald Manderscheidt) as well as the Great Organ built in 1834 (Aloys Mooser) and containing nearly 4'000 pipes.
Under the guidance of one of the co-owner organists, you will be able to discover the history of these two instruments, see them up close and hear them.
Private organ concert (30 min.)
Given by one of the titular organists.
This concert does not include a tour of the organs and will be arranged directly between the applicants and the organist concerned.
Guided tours and concerts are possible during following days:
Monday - Friday: 9.30 am - 5.30 pm
Saturday: 9.00 am - 4 pm
Sunday and public holidays: 1 pm - 5 pm
