Come and experience a magical and unforgettable moment, as you walk through the mountain at the first light of dawn to witness its awakening.
This hike is guided by Alain Peter, an experienced and passionate mountain guide, who will show you a spectacle of many colours, just before the arrival of the sun. The walk ends with a gourmet breakfast.
Gourmet sunrise on Saturday 23 August 2025
Departing at 4.45am, you will climb to the Col de Lys (1779m) via the Chalet du Grand Praz. At the end of the ascent, you'll enjoy the gradually brightening sky, finishing with a magnificent sunrise accompanied by a hot drink. On the way down, a tasty local breakfast awaits you at the Buvette de la Saletta.
Important information: route reserved for ‘sure-footed walkers’ including steep sections.

Timetable:
- 4.45am: Meet at the Cuva car park, on the Vuipay road
(group travel by car (places limited); winding road) - 5.00am: Departure from the car park
- 6.30am: Arrival on the Crête, after the Col de Lys
- 6.41am: Sunrise, entertainment and hot drink

Equipment required :
- A change of shoes and socks because of the morning dew and high grass (to be taken from the car at La Cuva)
- Headlamp
- Sunglasses for observation
- Drink and small snack while waiting for lunch
- Clothing suitable for the climate
- Possibly a blanket
