It all started in HEG classrooms, where Julien and I discovered that we made a complementary team by working on all our class projects together.
A few years later, while Julien was working for the St-Louis Foundation, an unexpected opportunity presented itself: professionalizing an existing microgreens project in a small space. But to undertake it alone? Impossible! A trusted partner was needed. The answer was obvious: Léandre.
After a cup of coffee and some discussion, the adventure began. With 30% each, we started experimenting with seeds, substrates, and irrigation. We quickly realized that to be profitable, we needed to produce more with less space. This is how our vertical farming approach was born.
With the help of the teams from the St-Louis Foundation and Greenioty, we designed a custom vertical hydroponic production system and moved to a larger location in Givisiez.
Since then, Pousses en l’Air has continued to evolve. We were the 2024 Winners of the Agricultural Innovation Award, we now supply gourmet restaurants and shops in French-speaking Switzerland, and we even had the pleasure of appearing on the Pique-Assiette show on RTS in 2025.
But our project is not limited to agriculture. Thanks to our connection with the St-Louis Foundation, we incorporate a social dimension by involving people in professional reintegration in our production. Because for us, entrepreneurship is also about having a positive impact.
