Overlooking the village and dating from the 12th century, Font’s church is a gem nestled in the vineyards; its charm is immediately apparent to anyone walking in the area…
Near the remains of one of the first castles in Switzerland, the site of the church rises majestically and dominates the lake, the village and the vineyard.
Beneath the church is a crypt that dates back either to Roman times or to the birth of Christianity. The clergy house and an ancient outbuilding of the castle complete the setting perfectly.
A short distance away is Châbles Chapel, dating from 1939 and featuring a magnificent stained glass window on the theme of the Virgin Mary as protector. And, very near, pilgrims discover the sanctuary of Our Lady of Bonnefontaine, an oratory where, around 1636, the Virgin performed cures on the plague-stricken.
