After spending one night in the Fribourg region, each guest will receive a QR code, together with a unique number, by e-mail or text message. This digital guest card gives access to a host of benefits from the canton's tourism service providers.
From January 2016, all tourists paying tourist tax in the Fribourg region will receive a cantonal guest card. This digital guest card opens the door to numerous discounts and tourist offers. Accompanied by a unique number, the QR codes sent by e-mail or text message can be used to identify tourist flows in the region. Thanks to this innovation, valuable statistics can be gathered on customer behaviour, while complying with data protection requirements. The Observatoire fribourgeois du Tourisme is looking forward to analysing this information.
