In the era of sustainability, Switzerland embodies respect for resources and the environment.
As part of its tourism strategy, Switzerland Tourism is committed to positioning the country as a fully sustainable destination. Many tourism providers have therefore pledged their support for sustainable development. The «Swisstainable» label provides clear guidance in this respect. By obtaining it, organizations in the tourism sector demonstrate their commitment to making Switzerland a more sustainable travel destination.
Estavayer-le-Lac Region strives to find a harmonious balance between protecting the environment, meeting the needs of guests, and supporting the local population. The award of the «Swisstainable» label guarantees a responsible and respectful travel experience. The Grande Cariçaie nature reserve and the region’s efforts in the field of soft mobility have contributed to achieving this recognition.
The sustainability program is divided into three levels, which represent the conditions and degree of commitment. After reaching Level I, Estavayer-le-Lac Region has now obtained Level II, confirming the implementation of concrete and sustainable measures in the area. This distinction highlights the region’s ongoing efforts in sustainable development and demonstrates how deeply sustainability is embedded in its tourism offering.
