Organised as part of the Bénichon staviacoise, the Best Bénichon Mustard Competition of the Canton of Fribourg brings together amateurs and professionals for a gourmet day dedicated to tradition.
Amateurs and professionals present their recipes to a jury composed of eight Moustardiers. Each mustard is evaluated according to three criteria: colour, consistency, and taste. At the end of the tastings, prizes are awarded to the top three in the amateur category, the first in the professional category, as well as the winner of the public prize.
In the afternoon, visitors are invited to taste the 15 best mustards selected by the jury and to vote for their favourite.
This year, the Interprofession de la Cuchaule AOP is partnering with the competition by offering the Cuchaules AOP served during the tastings. A mascot featuring the Cuchaule AOP will also be present to liven up the event.
Only the top 20 results in the amateur category, the top 3 in the professional category, as well as the winner of the public prize are published.
