Teysachaux is a summit in the Fribourg Pre-Alps well known to enthusiastic walkers, since reaching it requires a certain effort.
The walk starts from the bus stop Les Rosalys. From there, follow the signs that point towards the Moléson. A little higher up, you can stop at the Chalet Incrota, renowned for its excellent local produce. The route takes you to Villard-Dessus, where the path continues to your right, towards Tremetta. Make sure you follow the red and white signs dotted along the stony path, where the slope becomes steeper.
Once you reach the Tremetta mountain pasture, the most observers will spot the summit of Teysachaux with its cross and walkers leaning against it. From here, take the path along the ridge. The last section is not particularly difficult but requires concentration, as you cross a series of small rocky secondary summits, linked by narrow passes. The view over the Veveyse basin and Lake Geneva from the summit is breath-taking. Watch carefully where you are putting your feet for the first 30 minutes of the way down. The path then leads gently to the Alpine restaurant Le Vuipay. Take a break to quench your thirst, try some meringues with double cream and buy some serac cheese. The walk down continues through the Vuipey-d'en Bas pasture. The view over the Dent de Lys is magnificent and well worth a final glance before you head back to Les Rosalys.
Tip: to shorten the walk, you can also drive to Villard-Dessus, where there is a car park. From here, the return walk to the summit of Teysachaux takes around 2 hours 30 minutes.
