The “Sounds of Norway” concerts combine powerful images of nature, poetic silence, and rhythmic energy – shaped by the unique character of Norway.
The solemn “Fanfare og Koral” by Egil Hovland meets the quiet forest meditation “I fred bland träden bo” by the young Norwegian composer Isak Hård. The eagerly awaited world premiere of Ralph Bernardy’s multifaceted Piano Concerto will feature the Swiss-based soloist Leonhard Dering. Torsten Aagaard-Nilsen’s mysterious “Nocturne” unfolds Nordic, mystical twilight atmospheres. Grieg’s “Peer Gynt Suite” captivates with its dramatic romanticism, before the concert concludes with a masterful work based on variations of folk songs from the boundless Valdres landscape.
A journey through the soundscapes of the North – between natural sounds, folk melodies, and modernity – with Norwegian conductor Bjørn Sagstad and the Aulos Symphonic Wind Orchestra.
