The Schwarzsee-Senseland tourism organization is expanding its attractions map with an interactive version that digitally showcases destinations and sights. The project has become an interregional initiative, with partners including the La Gruyère region.
We are working with four tourism organizations – that makes the project incredibly exciting.

A year ago, the tourism organization Schwarzsee Region Sense launched its new highlights map: a physical map showing the tourist hotspots of the region. At the time, some critical voices questioned whether it made sense to rely on analog media in the digital age. Just in time for the summer season, the organization is now providing an answer to that question. For the first time, an interactive highlights map is being presented. Behind this pilot project, which is to be further expanded, lies not only a digital map but also a digital representation of existing offers.
“Rolf Müller has really started something big,” says Sascha Heimberg, CEO of the company Grafikreich AG. His company is responsible for the technical implementation. The charm of the project lies not only in the digital presentation of tourist hotspots, but also in the fact that other tourism regions have joined in the meantime. “We are working with four tourism organizations – that makes the project incredibly exciting,” says Heimberg. Initiated by Schwarzsee Region Sense, the project is now also being used in the La Gruyère region, by the tourism organization Region Laupen and the Gantrisch Nature Park. “Users don’t care about political or tourism boundaries – they just want to know what there is to discover nearby,” says Heimberg.
The technology behind the interactive map is provided by Mapsur and was integrated into the project by Grafikreich. It has already been used in various contexts, but this is the first time it’s being applied in tourism, says the CEO.
The beneficiaries are not just tourists, but also locals. The map is free to use and works without needing to install an app. “Users can bookmark offers and create their own personalized interactive map,” explains Sascha Heimberg. And: “There’s still plenty to discover in their own region – even for locals.”
