The Fribourg Pre-Alps as seen through the eyes of three young photographers with a passion for nature
We are three 16-year-old photographers with a passion for nature and photography. Through this exhibition, we present photographs taken in the canton during our outings.
Our images aim to convey the magical atmosphere of our Pre-Alps: the tranquillity, the light, the cold, and those unique moments that only nature can offer.
All the animals photographed are free-roaming and wild, observed in their natural environment.
Opening: 6pm – 10pm
Biography:
Germain
A 16-year-old photographer, I first became interested in nature around the age of 11 when I went walking in the Vanil Noir nature reserve to observe the local wildlife. It was also at that time that I discovered Vincent Munier, a great wildlife photographer who has inspired me greatly with his style and his perspective on nature. It was in 2023 that I decided to take up wildlife photography by buying my first camera body and lens. Since then, I have been wandering through our local mountains with my binoculars in search of a silhouette, an atmosphere of the wild, whilst on a quest for the ghost of the woods, the lynx.
Jules
Born in 2009 in Gruyère, I have always been fascinated by the wildlife in my region. I am lucky to have parents who took me outdoors and made me aware of wildlife from a very young age. Jacques Rime’s stories of wildlife watching and his drawings fuelled my passion, captivating me with their perfectly captured atmosphere of night-time vigilance. In 2022, I took up wildlife photography with the aim of capturing the moment and my encounters with animals. Since then, camera in hand, I’ve been roaming the mountain ranges of our region, always on the lookout for the scenes that have filled my dreams since I was a child.
Baptiste
Born at the foot of the Pre-Alps, our region has always filled me with wonder. Both for the landscapes it offers and for the animals that roam them.
Today, it has been a few years since these dreams have merged with reality through photography.
Since then, my free time has been spent sleeping under pine trees or camping in the more alpine valleys of Gruyère, always in search of the wild.
Sometimes, this allows me to capture my most beautiful encounters
