The Veveyse Storytellers’ Collective will recount tales both old and new, from near and far, drawing on the favourites from their repertoire. The performance will appeal to families of all ages. Children, parents and grandparents alike will delight in being transported into the imaginative world of storytelling, our great shared heritage.
Artists’ biographies
Jacqueline Dupuis: Stories? A world of their own! I embarked on my training with no ulterior motive, thinking, ‘We’ll see how it goes!’ And I’ve grown to love it! Sweet, savoury, tangy, gentle, spicy. It all depends. An experienced storyteller, trained by and a member of Contemuse. Marie-Laure Beun: Intriguing and delightfully offbeat, I tell tales of incredible adventures where heroes fall, fly, are reborn, get lost and transform. Nothing goes as planned, and that’s where the magic happens. Trained in the art of storytelling, I started out in a bilingual duo before forging my own path at storytelling evenings.
Catherine Bastianel: I’ve always loved stories – listening to them, reading them and telling them. My background in improvisation and narrative theatre led me to explore storytelling through the body, rhythm and presence. I then trained in storytelling with Catherine Gaillard in Geneva. For me, storytelling is about bringing words to life and creating a shared space of imagination.
Malina Billod: My love of storytelling has grown over the years! I’ve been telling stories every month for the past five years. In 2024, I joined forces with other storytellers in the region to set up a storytelling group based at the Veveyse Public Library. I tell traditional tales linked to the seasons here in our region. Sometimes I improvise and create stories with the audience. As a duo with Catherine Bastianel, it’s even more delightful! Isabeilles Training: Social storyteller.
Céline Viret: Between storytelling and connection, tales have come to me over time to find expression through my voice and reach out to their audience. Isabeilles training:
Social storyteller.
Nicolas Noz: ...is a storyteller who loves stories, joy and the human connection that tales
provide. His repertoire consists of European folk tales, with a preference for the
wonderful and the whimsical. He is the host of the ‘Cercle du Conte’ at the ‘Maison du Récit’ and owner of Noz-Chocolatier in Lausanne.
