The Romont Dairy Company has been in existence since 1844 and has been run by Thierry Ecoffey since 2012. Following a merger with the Chavannes-sous-Romont dairy in 1990, the Romont cheese dairy, originally located on Rue de l'Église, moved to a new building in Chavannes-sous-Romont in 1991. Since then, the new cheese dairy has been processing more than 3,200,000 million litres of milk each year. Come and discover the production process, which benefits from the most modern facilities, including an automatic milk reception system! The 12,000-litre vat, with double eight stirring, is unique in French-speaking Switzerland. This vat has a capacity of 28 Gruyères in a single load. The cheese cellars can hold 3,500 cheeses. A tasting session awaits you after this visit, which is sure to make your mouth water!
