Immerse yourself in the mountain world on the Aettenberg. The soft yet dominant mountains, lush pastures and diverse flora make the tour an experience.
The starting point is at the idyllic Schwarzsee on the Gypseraplatz next to the lake outlet, where the Warme Sense springs from the lake. The route follows the hiking trail along the Sense on gravel paths and partly on hiking trails to the Rohr district. Below the village of Rohr, the ascent begins on a paved road via Mösli to the Aettenberg. The even but steadily rising ascent is strenuous but pleasant to ride.
From the Aettenberg, the route continues flat with slight inclines on a gravel path to the Geissalp road entrance. From there the road is paved up to the Salzmatt at 1637 m above sea level. The ride back to Schwarzsee is on the paved road to Schönenboden, from there via the Ganterschli alpine cheese dairy on a gravel road and from the Murenstöck back on the paved road to Sangernboden (977 m above sea level).
From Sangernboden to Zollhaus you continue on the main road. If you have run out of energy, you can take the bus from Zollhaus to Schwarzsee. Otherwise you can take the hiking trail with beautiful trails or the main road for the return journey to Schwarzsee.
