Due to the lack of rainfall over several weeks, combined with current and expected weather conditions, the forest fire risk in the canton of Fribourg has reached level 4 out of 5 (high). In light of this situation, the Office for Forests and Nature has issued a fire ban in all forests of the canton, effective from July 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM – this also applies to barbecuing at existing fire pits.
The fire pits around Lake Schwarzsee have been closed accordingly. We kindly ask all guests to respect this ban. It will remain in effect until the forest fire risk decreases again. (Updated: July 9, 2026)
