Hike to Kaiseregg, including opportunities to spot griffon vultures and other birds of prey, a picnic, and a possible climb to the summit.
About the event:
On the agenda – We’ll set out early in the morning for the Kaiseregg to try to spot griffon vultures, those fantastic flying machines with their impressive wingspans (up to 2.7 meters). Some young members of this once-unpopular mountain species spend their summer in Switzerland. After an ascent of just over two hours of actual hiking time, we’ll reach the pass. There, we’ll spend a few hours scanning the sky and waiting for the great gliders to awaken. We’ll have our picnic at the pass. In the early afternoon, weather permitting, we’ll set off for the summit of the Kaiseregg. With a bit of luck, we might spot a few other large birds of prey.
