Marvel at the birdlife of the Lac Noir region during a weekend stay at Campus Schwarzsee.
Located in the heart of the Pre-Alps, the Lac Noir region offers wonderful opportunities in the spring to observe the birdlife typical of various Pre-Alpine habitats.
Depending on snow conditions, we’ll take advantage of the many hiking opportunities to discover these species. We’ll look for woodpeckers, crossbills, and other birds of coniferous forests, as well as golden eagles and bearded vultures, not to mention alpine breeding birds such as pipits, stonechats, and wheatears. With a bit of luck, an early start will allow us to hear or spot two legendary species of the Pre-Alps: the black grouse and the rock partridge.
Over the course of the weekend, participants will learn to identify different bird species while discovering their ecology and the challenges related to their conservation.
