In the Glass and Stained Glass Country, glass art is to be found in the churches, in public spaces, in the streets and obviously, the most important are in the Vitromusée Romont, the swiss museum of Stained Glass and Glass Arts.
In the Vitromusée Romont (Swiss Museum of Stained Glass and Glass Art), in churches and chapels, on house windows, the town walls and even in the shopping centre, glass art is everywhere in Romont and the surrounding area! Here, you can familiarise yourself with glass as you admire it, learn, play or simply take a stroll. The country of glass and stained glass reveals everything there is to know about a material that combines poetry and utility, fragility and timelessness.
The “Glass and stained glass country” brochure will help you explore this colourful world.

Vitromusée Romont
The Swiss Museum of Stained Glass and Glass Art in the picturesque Romont Castle reveals the rich diversity of glass art. Stained glass, reverse glass paintings, glass objects and graphic works, as well as tools and materials associated with glass art, form the heart of a collection.
Themed exhibitions highlight the diversity of contemporary glass work and some lesser-known aspects of the world of glassmaking.
Activities and workshops for children and adults as well as guided tours for groups are also available.
Vitroparcours
Glass reveals all its many facets and secrets along the Vitroparcours trail. Along the walk around the city walls there are eight fun stops that explore the history of glass and how
it has been worked and used in an entertaining way. A quiz, available from the tourist office or the Swiss Museum of Stained Glass and Glass Art, will keep even the youngest children busy, and there’s a colourful surprise waiting for them if they can answer all the questions.

Vitrofestival
This unique biannual event (odd years) is an unmissable opportunity in Switzerland and promotes contemporary glass art with a high-quality craft market, a gallery of recent works of art from various European countries, fascinating emonstrations and fun activities for children.
Stained glass Trail
A walking trail takes visitors through the countryside, villages and forests to explore both impressive churches and simple chapels. The region’s protected landscape is an ideal setting for the creations of glass artists from the local area and elsewhere. From historical to figurative and abstract glass canopies provide a beautiful sample of this luminous art.
The art of stained glass is also available to cyclists, who are invited to follow a pleasant, gently undulating route from Romont to Oron passing several shrines.

Churches around Romont
The Romont region is the perfect place to admire stained glass in its original environment: numerous shrines are home to high-quality old or contemporary works.
