The Sommentier Cheese Dairy, where tradition and modernity come together to bring Fribourg's expertise to life.
Shortly after the former cheesemaker retired, the cheese dairy was taken over in January 2025 by two partners who are dedicated and passionate about their work. Their goal is to breathe new life into the Sommentier cheese dairy, combining modernity and tradition to showcase Fribourg's expertise.
Our must-try speciality: ‘Le Petit Glânois’. This full-fat, semi-hard cheese made from raw milk is produced exclusively by us. It is matured in white wine for six weeks, giving it an incomparable flavour and perfect texture. The cheese comes in several varieties depending on the season.
