Activities offered for children at the Vitromusée
At the Vitromusée Romont, children are invited to discover the world of glass through fun and creative activities. In the dedicated workshop, they can explore shapes, colours, and the multiple possibilities offered by glass, while letting their imagination run wild.
Whether as a family, during an individual visit, or as part of an organised activity, several options allow young visitors to experience the museum differently.
Creative activities with free access:
During their visit, children can create various items in the museum's children's workshop. Three activities are offered, each with its own kit:
- Sun catcher – from 6 years old, accompanied by an adult
- Candle holder – from 5 years old, accompanied by an adult
- Stained glass disc – from 5 years old, accompanied by an adult
The kits are available at the museum reception for CHF 10.– per activity. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes to create one item.
These activities can be carried out during any visit, without prior reservation.
Games and discoveries for children:
Other proposals invite children to observe, play, and explore the collections and surroundings of the museum:
- Children's books on colour – to discover in the children's workshop
- Memory – a game to learn while having fun, in the children's workshop
- Colouring – to express creativity in the children's workshop
- Extra Muros – Detail Games – an observation activity at the Collegiate Church of Romont
- Vitroparcours – a route to discover in Romont, with a playground and various quizzes
These games and activities are free.
The Vitroateliers Kids
Throughout the year, the Vitromusée also offers the Vitroateliers Kids, creative workshops specifically designed for young audiences. They are part of the museum's annual activity programme and allow children to discover different techniques and themes related to glass and the exhibitions.

The Vitromusée Romont is labelled as a Happy Museum by the Môm’Art association. This recognition highlights its commitment to welcoming families and providing children with an enriching, accessible, and discovery-filled cultural experience.
