Vitromusée in the Heart of a Castle
The Vitromusée Romont is nestled within the medieval castle of Romont. It is a museum entirely dedicated to the art of glass. It brings to life the history and richness of this fascinating art form. Here, you will discover a collection of stained glass and glass paintings. Glass objects and glassmaking tools complete the collection.
Art & Culture
Stained Glass & Glass Painting. The Vitromusée houses a remarkable collection of stained glass and glass paintings, spanning from the Middle Ages to the present day. It bears witness to centuries of craftsmanship and creativity.
The Glassmaker’s Workshop. This space explores the tools and techniques used by glass painters and makers. Regular demonstrations are held throughout the year. The museum also offers introductory workshops open to everyone.
The Glass Section. This section traces the history of glass from Antiquity to the 20th century. Here, you will discover blown, moulded and pressed glass. It also features works from the artistic glassworks of Saint-Prex. Finally, it highlights their artistic and technical uses.
The Virtual Gallery. In partnership with the Centro Studi del Vetro in Venice, the gallery presents a collection of historical photographs from the Seguso Vetri d’Arte workshop, complemented by films from the Corning Museum of Glass showcasing the art of glassblowing.

Throughout the year, the museum of stained glass presents temporary exhibitions highlighting the diversity of contemporary glassmaking and revealing lesser-known aspects of the world of glass.

Workshops & Demonstrations. Discover the art of glass through our creative workshops. The museum offers demonstrations and workshops for visitors of all ages.
For Families. The Vitromusée has been awarded the Musée Joyeux label by the Môm’Art association. It offers children creative activities and discovery afternoons. Discover what children can do at the Vitromusée.
Guided Tours. On the first Sunday of every month at 2 pm, the Vitromusée offers a free one-hour guided tour of its exhibitions. Included with the admission ticket.
