Discover the Obermaggenberg ruins and learn more about their history, the Maggenberg family of knights, and their preservation during a guided tour.
The Obermaggenberg ruins had fallen into obscurity over many years and were in danger of collapsing. In 1928, the Sense District Local History Society purchased the site and restored it in several phases. During a group excursion to the ruins, Charles Folly will talk about the castle’s history and its preservation. Christian Schmutz and Ramona Suter will share fascinating insights into the legends and stories surrounding castles and ruins. Light refreshments will be available on site, along with photographs documenting the various restoration efforts.
