A magical day hike on the heights around Schwarzsee

The fantastic high-altitude trail from the Riggisalp to the Schwyberg opens up new views of the Schwarzsee without losing height.
The route Steinige Rippa-Obere Recardets, which was newly built in 2008, has a length of 2.6 km and is mainly located in the commune of Charmey. From the Obere Recardets to the Schwyberg it is 5.4 km. The whole high trail from the Riggisalp to the Schwyberg has a length of about 14 km. With the descent to Schwarzsee it is 18.9 km. However, a descent on the route is possible several times.
The high trail connects the Gruyère and Sense districts and leads through five communities: Jaun, Charmey, Cerniat, Plasselb and Plaffeien.
Tip: there are plenty of Alpine restaurants where you can stop for a break all along the route.
