Number 16 of the historical tour
The name of the stairway connecting the Grand-Rue to the upper rampart comes from a dialect derivative of Marsens – Massin. The monks of Marsens occupied a house here until the end of the 14th century. The neighboring gate derived its name from their presence. They owned a sumptuous garment intended to adorn the Madonna in the collegiate church.
