Join us on this fascinating excursion to discover the lapwing – once a common and widespread breeding bird, now only present in our region thanks to targeted conservation measures.
The excursion takes us to BirdLife Switzerland's lapwing conservation area in the Grand Marais, where careful conservation and management measures have recreated favourable breeding conditions. Today, this site is home to one of the three largest colonies of lapwings in Switzerland.
With binoculars in hand, we will immerse ourselves in its world: its habitats, characteristic behaviours and striking plumage. Come and enjoy a morning full of discoveries and fascinating explanations about this project – in the heart of a landscape that has once again become a precious habitat for this iconic wader.
