Grand Tour of Switzerland
On the Grand Tour of Switzerland, the trip itself is the destination. On the approximately 1,600 km long journey, a total of four language regions, five Alpine passes, eleven Unesco World Heritage Sites, two biospheres and 22 lakes throughout Switzerland are on the programme. Murten is one of the stops on this adventure tour, which can be completed by car, motor home or motorbike. The Swiss singer Bastian Baker passed by in Murten, among other places, to take a short break – have a look!
On the 252 km section from Neuchâtel to Bern, the Grand Tour of Switzerland also makes a stop in the Lake Murten region. Here you have the opportunity to discover the Vully with its picturesque winegrowing villages and vineyards, the old town of Murten with its almost completely preserved city wall or the longest natural freshwater sandy beach in Europe in Salavaux.
