‘From tango to waltz’
On 14 November 2026, Sven Angelo Mindeci on accordion and Tatjana Fuog on organ and piano will take us on a journey from tango to waltz. These two musical genres have evolved from their initial local roots into a global cultural heritage.
We can also look forward to the musical interludes. This is because Sven Angelo Mindeci is someone who, alongside Argentine tango, also explores jazz. The experienced accordionist says that he has dreamt of being a musician ever since he was a child. “However, it took me a while to identify with my instrument. My youth was shaped by Italian and French folk music. After completing my classical studies, I devoted myself intensively to Argentine tango and jazz. Ever since I’ve been performing as an accordionist, I’ve tried to show the audience that my accordion is more than just a folk instrument. I love blending styles and coaxing new sounds out of my instrument.”
Mindeci teaches at the Sursee Regional Music School. He works as a versatile soloist, arranger and composer, and plays in several ensembles.
A warm welcome to the serenade on Saturday, 14 November 2026, at 5.00 pm, at the French Church. Pastor Markus Vögtli will read appropriate texts to accompany the music.
