Lake Murten regional economic development has been able to take advantage of the present day industrialization phase.
The primary sector (16.9%) is mainly based in food production as well as vegetable cultivation in the Great Marsh area of the plains and grape growing/wine making in the Vully.
The secondary sector (34.2%) is steadily developing; especially for small to medium sized businesses with high added value.
The tertiary sector (48,9%) is clearly evident through the outstanding tourism opportunities due to the region’s natural beauty.
The Lake Murten Regional Association acts a local economic development office for the region's economy. The Canton of Fribourg Development Agency also offers active support to the Lake Murten region.
