Irma Bucher and Jean-François Zehnder did not know each other. The meeting of the Basel sculptor and the Fribourg painter reveals deep affinities: their sensitivity, their ability to capture the essence in just a few strokes, and the importance they place on music in their artistic approach.
The Le Tube gallery workshop brings together for the first time the sculptures of the Basel artist Irma Bucher and the paintings of the Fribourg artist Jean-François Zenhder. The faces sculpted from gneiss, marble, red lava, serpentinite, or limestone enter into dialogue with the skies adorned with discreet clouds, the landscapes, and the subtle reflections born from the brushes and charcoal of the painter, revealing deep affinities: their sensitivity, their ability to capture the essence in a few strokes, and the importance given to music in their artistic approach.
