The duo Avès, consisting of pianist Elena Soussi and accordionist Ambre Vuillermoz, blends classical music and contemporary creation to offer an original and accessible musical experience for everyone.
Both originally from Provence and friends since childhood, pianist Elena Soussi and accordionist Ambre Vuillermoz formed the duo Avès in 2017. This duo of “faux-twins”, featuring two keyboard instruments—one wind and the other percussion—leads them to deepen their work on timbre and composition alongside various composers. In 2018, they founded the association Jeux d’Anches, with which they organise a winter concert season in the Alpes de Haute Provence department. Their goal: to share classical and contemporary chamber music with the public in this rural area. To achieve this, they invite high-quality ensembles and annually realise a creation project carried by their duo. Their aesthetic choices are guided both by a desire to engage with the creative landscape of our time and by a questioning of audiences and transmission. They are particularly interested in innovative concert formats and the association of different art forms. In this approach, they also conduct educational activities in instrumental practice with young people in the department each year. The duo collectively takes on the artistic direction of the association Jeux d’Anches in their home department. In addition to their concert repertoire, which combines transcriptions and original works, they are the initiators of various creative projects, always aiming to renew the aesthetic experience of the audience.
