Introduction to the Farms
- Seeland Bio run by brothers Bruno and Marcel Christen, cultivates around 70 hectares in the Seeland region's Grosses Moos. They grow approximately 35 different types of vegetables and potatoes. Their main crops include various lettuce varieties, carrots, onions, leeks, beets, different types of cabbage, as well as eggplants, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
- Aare-Bio is a farming cooperative founded by David Ramseier, Thomas Augstburger, and Peter Hurni. Since its establishment in 2019, they have been cultivating 65 hectares of land in Detligen and the surrounding area. Their focus is on the production of organic field-grown and storage vegetables, such as pumpkins, carrots, potatoes, beans, cabbage, lettuce, and spring onions. In addition, they are engaged in grain cultivation and cattle farming.
