The route to Vevey from Les Paccots takes you from the canton of Fribourg to the canton of Vaud, but it is also a walk full of new discoveries: the magnificently preserved Lac des Joncs, the Fégire footbridge, which marks the border between the cantons and the enchanting panoramic views over the Pre-Alps or Lake Geneva, as well as regional culinary specialities.
As you leave Les Paccots, don’t miss the short detour via the Lac des Joncs, the natural jewel in the crown of a protected natural environment full of botanical treasures, with information panels to tell you more. The path into a magnificent forest takes you to the Fégire footbridge, where La Veveyse de Fégire marks the border between the cantons of Fribourg and Vaud. The route continues via Les Mossettes to the Les Tenasses marshes. The Pléiades offer a magnificent view over Lake Geneva and the surrounding Alps and there is a glorious carpet of white narcissi here in May. A sharp descent awaits you as you head to Blonay; a gentler option is to take the rack and pinion railway.
Tip: the tourist office in Les Paccots offers several gourmet trails; see its website for more information.
