Vully is the sun-soaked shoreline for gourmets on Lake Murten. It is nice to know the origin of the Chasselas, the Traminer, the Pinot Noir and the Freiburger! Even if Vully is regarded as the smallest of Switzerland’s major winegrowing regions, winegrowers know how to celebrate their festival in style. The lovely winegrowing village of Praz is decorated with flowers and has many market stalls and open wine cellars. With children’s parades, marching carnival bands and brass bands, the Festival is a joyful celebration of wine and life. The Praz Grape Harvest Festival takes place every year in September.

The vineyard path between Môtier and Sugiez increases the anticipation of the visit to the Festival or the wine cellars – or the sense of well-being afterwards. The approximately 1.5-hour walk with views of Lake Murten and the Alps offers plenty of interesting facts about local viticulture; the information boards posted along the path will be renewed in autumn 2025.

With 14 hectares of vines, Cheyres is a mini wine region. Nevertheless, Cheyres wines, mainly Chasselas and Pinot Noir, are very popular. The ‘Grivevin’, a blend of Pinot Noir, Gamaret and Garanoir, is also particularly original. The grape harvest is celebrated in Cheyres in October. The vineyard trail takes visitors through the various stages of wine production.
