Spectacular trees in the canton of Fribourg

The different species represented by these exceptional specimens are all gifts of nature.

Trees are omnipresent elements of the rural and urban landscape, and are so common that they sometimes escape the attention of the human eye. Yet, due to their size, shape, age or ecological importance, many of them are of interest to the observer.
 
For this reason, about twenty “spectacular” trees among the 20 to 30 million individuals of the canton of Fribourg were chosen. Each one was photographed. The photos are integrated into descriptive sheets that mention the main characteristics of the individual as well as the criteria that make it possible to recognize such or such other tree species.  More information (in French or German)
