Fribourg wines
A small wine-growing region which inspires wine and nature lovers.
With 152 hectares of vineyards, Vully on Lake Murten is the smallest of the large Swiss wine-growing regions. Chasselas and Pinot noir, in addition to Gamaret, Merlot, Pinot gris and Chardonnay as well as Freiburger and Traminer are grown. The wineries have enacted the “Vully Charter” to enhance the status of these two specialities.
In the region of Cheyres, on the southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel, twenty-five producers share 14 hectares of vineyards, of which they do not make their main activity. On these vines, between cliffs of moraine and marshes, there is a majority of pinot noir but also chasselas, of course, and specialities.
