
TIn 2026, the Canton of Fribourg will pulse to the rhythm of cycling. Between a major international road race and a friendly mountain bike event, both enthusiasts and curious onlookers will have plenty to look forward to.
A must-see on the international cycling calendar, the Tour de Romandie will once again make a stop in the Canton of Fribourg in 2026. On Saturday, May 2nd, riders will set off between Broc and Charmey, a demanding route through the heart of the Fribourg Pre-Alps.
Spectators will have the chance to cheer on Tadej Pogačar, the reigning world champion and multiple Tour de France winner, whose participation has been announced. It’s a unique opportunity to see up close one of the greatest talents in modern cycling, set against spectacular landscapes that promise an intense and decisive stage.
Another highlight of the Fribourg cycling year will take place on May 9th, when Moléson-sur-Gruyères hosts a round of the Swiss Bike Cup. This mountain bike competition is aimed primarily at young riders (U9 to U17) as well as non-licensed adult participants, offering an ideal platform for up-and-coming talent and passionate amateurs alike.
Around 500 riders from across Switzerland and neighboring countries are expected to take part in this sporting yet convivial event. Set in an iconic alpine setting, the Moléson round promises a festive atmosphere, open to the public and perfect for discovering competitive mountain biking in a friendly, family-oriented environment.
