As the days get shorter and the cold returns, the Lake Morat region is ready to transform itself into the capital of light, offering visitors unforgettable and magical moments.
Like every winter, Murten appears in its most beautiful dress of lights to welcome visitors in search of marvellous experiences and memories. But the region has much more to offer! Would you like to escape to the tropics for an afternoon? Then head to Kerzers and warm up in the Papiliorama at over 20 degrees.
If fresh air and sports are your dearest friends, then enjoy an afternoon at the Murten on Ice ice rink, set up at the gates of Murten’s old town. Field hockey, skating, ice-skating lessons or mulled wine in the hut heated by a wood stove – a truly wintery experience in a fantastic setting that you should not miss!
From January 17, 2024, the old town of Murten and the lake promenade will be transformed into a magical world. In its 8th edition, the Murten Light Festival will once again attract more than 50,000 visitors to the medieval town of Murten during 12 days. Take advantage of your visit to take a look behind the scenes with the “Behind the Scenes” guided tour. Our guides will show and tell you the stories behind some of the Arteplages and artists who are taking part in this new edition.
Would you like to extend your stay in the region to several days? Book your overnight stay now at one of the region’s many hotels or take advantage of an offer that combines accommodation and activities. The residents of the region are also happy to welcome you in their guest rooms during the winter months.
