Nowadays, the Bénichon is celebrated mainly with family or friends in a warm and authentic atmosphere. To share this unique tradition with a wider audience, the Bénichon Season invites you to experience it to the fullest – while supporting local farmers, restaurants and artisans.
The Bénichon Season is organised from the end of August to mid-November throughout the canton of Fribourg, following the traditionnal calender specific to each region. During this period, many partner restaurants serve the famous Bénichon menu. Partner butchers offer a kit for four people to reheat at home, and partner bakeries sell the Bénichon sandwich.
