Kayaking adventure

The Sarine river and Lake Schiffenen are perfect for paddlers. And this is how it works: upon arrival in Fribourg, take a short stroll through the charming Old Town, before floating along one of the most beautiful paddle lakes in Switzerland. Here, even beginners have an unforgettable experience on the water. This is how you spend a relaxing day.

For advanced paddlers, the Fribourg Canoe Club offers adventurous kayak trips on the Sarine. This unforgettable experience, which starts at the Maigrauge dam, offers unique views of Fribourg’s Old Town.

There is also much to explore on and around Lake Gruyère. Kayaks and stand up paddles can be hired in Corbières. Participants start from Morlon Beach via the Bird Island, past the Ogoz Island and on to the Rossens dam – a Gruyère symphony in dazzling blue and green. This is also the right address for a spin in a motorboat or a treasure hunt in a kayak.

In Estavayer-le-Lac, guided kayak tours offer a slightly different approach to the nature reserve of the Grande Cariçaie.

A kayak trip is also possible on Lake Murten thanks to various hire stations. Whether in Murten or Salavaux, alone or as a couple, with a view of Vully or Murten – the lake is calling!
