The Calicantus Choir, conducted by Mario Fontana with Simona Crociani on piano, is one of the most renowned youth choirs in Europe. Based in Ticino, Switzerland, it offers a multicultural repertoire that combines musical precision with vibrant energy.
In 2025, Calicantus was awarded the Interpretation Prize by ASCEJ and performed in Italy, Yvonand, and various Swiss cities. The choir has also represented Switzerland at prestigious international festivals, winning numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the Prague International Competition.
The concert program in Gruyères will feature works by Palestrina, Čajkovskij, Gershwin, Gjeilo, Antognini, and folk songs from around the world.
