General Terms and Conditions of Booking and Sale – La Gruyère Tourisme Ticket Office
Version dated 01.07.2027
These conditions apply to products, tickets, activities, guided tours, events, tourist packages, gift vouchers, credits and treasure hunt kits sold by La Gruyère Tourisme through its online ticket office.
By confirming the order, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these conditions. They also apply to all persons for whom the booking is made.
1. Role of La Gruyère Tourisme and its partners
La Gruyère Tourisme sells, collects payment for and coordinates certain products through its online ticket office. Depending on the product, the service may be provided directly by La Gruyère Tourisme, by an independent partner or in collaboration with a partner.
When a service is provided or operated by a partner, that partner remains responsible for the practical organisation of its service, including opening hours, operating days, closures, access conditions, safety rules, capacity, technical decisions, operational decisions and quality of service delivery.
La Gruyère Tourisme does not replace the partners in the operational management of their services.
2. Order, payment and tickets
The order becomes binding once it has been confirmed and paid for through the online ticket office. The customer receives an order confirmation and/or an electronic ticket by e-mail.
The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided when placing the order, including e-mail address, name, selected date, selected time and purchased product.
Tickets, confirmations, QR codes, gift vouchers and credits must be presented according to the stated conditions. They may not be copied, modified or used more than once, unless otherwise indicated.
Prices are stated in Swiss francs, including any applicable taxes. Personal expenses and costs not expressly included in the product remain the responsibility of the customer.
3. Information to be checked before the visit
The customer is responsible for checking the relevant information related to the purchased product before the visit, including dates, times, meeting points, opening periods, seasonal or exceptional closures, access conditions, any required bookings, restrictions and travel times.
This check is particularly important for packages that include several partner services and/or public transport.
La Gruyère Tourisme does not guarantee the permanent opening or continuous availability of services provided by independent partners.
4. Cancellation or change by the customer
Unless specific conditions are stated on the product page, the customer may request cancellation of the booking up to 48 hours before the start of the service.
In the event of a valid cancellation within this period, La Gruyère Tourisme will issue a gift voucher or credit of equivalent value, valid for 1 year from the date of issue and not refundable in cash.
Any cancellation or change request must be sent by e-mail to info@la-gruyere.ch. The date and time of receipt of the e-mail shall prevail.
In the event of cancellation less than 48 hours before the start of the service, no-show, late arrival, an error attributable to the customer or total or partial non-use of the ticket, no refund, postponement, gift voucher, credit or compensation is due.
5. Partner services, weather and availability
Some products and packages sold by La Gruyère Tourisme include services provided and operated by independent partners.
These services may depend on external conditions such as weather, safety, condition of facilities, visitor numbers, public transport timetables, seasonal or exceptional closures, technical decisions, operational decisions by partners or decisions by authorities.
A partner service may be temporarily unavailable, modified, interrupted or cancelled for reasons specific to the partner, including exceptional closure, planned closure, technical issue, lack of staff, private event, weather, safety, force majeure or decision by an authority.
In such situations, La Gruyère Tourisme cannot be held responsible for the unavailability, modification, interruption, closure or non-performance of a service provided by an independent partner, provided that La Gruyère Tourisme has not caused the situation itself through gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
The closure, unavailability, modification, interruption or non-performance of a partner service does not give rise to any automatic right to a full or partial refund of the product or package, particularly where the other services remain usable.
No compensation, price reduction, reimbursement of additional expenses or damages may be claimed from La Gruyère Tourisme due to a closure, unavailability, modification or non-performance attributable to an independent partner.
The customer’s mandatory rights under applicable Swiss law remain reserved.
6. Tourist packages and public transport
Tourist packages may include several services, including entries to partner sites, activities, tourist benefits and/or public transport.
The customer is responsible for planning their itinerary and complying with the timetables, access conditions and terms of use of the relevant partners and transport providers.
The QR code or ticket provided must be presented to the partners and, where applicable, on the included public transport. La Gruyère Tourisme cannot be held responsible for fines, surcharges or consequences resulting from incorrect use, failure to present the travel pass, loss of the travel pass or failure to comply with the conditions of the transport providers.
The non-use of one or more services included in a package, for any reason, including poor planning, late arrival, no-show, announced closure, unchecked timetable, personal choice, closure of a partner or unavailability of a partner service, does not entitle the customer to any refund or price reduction.
For multi-day packages, the customer’s mandatory rights under the applicable Swiss legislation on package travel remain reserved where such legislation applies.
7. Events, guided tours and treasure hunt kit
For events organised by La Gruyère Tourisme, tickets are firm and final from the time of purchase, unless otherwise indicated. In the event of cancellation of participation by the customer, no-show, late arrival, personal impediment or non-use of the ticket, no refund or postponement is due.
If La Gruyère Tourisme itself cancels an event it organises, any refund or postponement will be communicated according to the specific conditions of the event concerned. No additional compensation may be claimed, including for travel, accommodation, meals, parking or other ancillary costs.
Guided tours sold by La Gruyère Tourisme may be carried out by La Gruyère Tourisme or by a partner, in particular the Musée gruérien. The customer must arrive on time at the indicated meeting point. In the event of late arrival, the tour may start without the customer and no refund is due.
The treasure hunt kit is a physical product that may be linked to an app or digital content. Once the kit has been collected, used or activated, it cannot be returned or refunded, except in the event of a proven defect. La Gruyère Tourisme cannot guarantee the continuous functioning of a third-party app, mobile network, GPS or the customer’s phone.
8. Gift vouchers and credits
Gift vouchers and credits issued by La Gruyère Tourisme are transferable, non-refundable in cash and may only be used for products offered by La Gruyère Tourisme, within the limits of their validity and availability.
Unless otherwise indicated, they are valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
The loss, theft, damage or unauthorised use of a gift voucher or credit does not entitle the customer to a replacement, unless La Gruyère Tourisme decides otherwise as a commercial gesture.
9. Responsibility and conduct
The customer takes part in activities, guided tours, events and services under their own responsibility and must be covered by their own insurance, in particular accident, illness, civil liability and theft insurance.
The customer must comply with the safety instructions, access conditions and instructions given by La Gruyère Tourisme, partners, guides, organisers, transport providers or operators. Access may be refused or the customer may be excluded without refund in the event of inappropriate, dangerous, disrespectful behaviour or behaviour contrary to the instructions.
La Gruyère Tourisme is liable for direct damages caused intentionally or through gross negligence in the performance of its own obligations. To the extent permitted by law, La Gruyère Tourisme excludes any liability for indirect damages, ancillary costs, loss of earnings, improper use of the ticket, poor planning by the customer, late arrival by the customer, failure to follow instructions or non-performance attributable to an independent partner.
Mandatory legal provisions, in particular regarding liability, consumer protection or package travel, remain reserved.
10. Complaints, applicable law and entry into force
Any complaint must be sent by e-mail to info@la-gruyere.ch as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days following the service concerned, with the relevant information: order number, purchased product, date, description of the issue and any supporting documents.
These conditions are governed by Swiss law. Subject to any mandatory places of jurisdiction provided by law, the place of jurisdiction is the registered office of La Gruyère Tourisme.
If any provision of these conditions is declared invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.
These conditions enter into force on 01.07.2026 and replace all previous versions.
