Exhibition of sculptures by Michel Riedo
As part of the Arts du Feu festival, Michel Riedo is extending his exhibition at the Tibet Museum.
Michel Riedo, first a teacher then an editor and artist, has been exhibiting his abstract works, combining painting, drawing, engraving, and collage for over 50 years. For the past 30 years, he has devoted himself mainly to sculpture, using iron, stone, or bronze, with a predilection for geometric shapes and the interplay of empty spaces and lines. His preferred materials are iron, steel, and bronze. He also uses stainless steel and aluminum. Stone sometimes finds its way into his sculptures, which are generally abstract. Some are painted in bright colors.
Some of his sculptures, which are sometimes figurative, have humorous titles that mask social or environmental criticism.
