Enjoy the exceptional calm and acoustics of the Tibet Museum chapel while listening to mantras chanted by Dechen Shak-Dagsay, accompanied on the flute by Jürg Zurmühle. A truly magical moment...
Dechen Shak-Dagsay is a Swiss singer born to Tibetan parents. She has already given several sold-out concerts at the Tibet Museum.
Born in Nepal, Dechen Shak-Dagsay and her parents sought refuge in Switzerland in 1963. As her family was dedicated to preserving Tibetan culture, she studied Tibetan dance and music throughout her childhood and adolescence. In 1989, she made her musical debut with the maxi-single "Bodhicitta." She then worked on Bernardo Bertolucci's film "Little Buddha" in London. Her first album, Dewa Che, was released in 1999. In 2002, she released her second album, Shi De, a call for worldpeace, and in 2004, her third CD, Dcham Sem. In 2011 and 2014, she recorded two albums with Tina Turner, Regula Curti, and Sawani Shende-Sathaye. She has recorded 13 albums and given numerous concerts worldwide.
On April 24, 2026, she will present an acoustic version of her music at the Tibet Museum, accompanied by flautist Jürg Zurmühle.
