This route, which is aimed at everyone, proposes two days of hiking between Charmey and La Berra. Including accommodation and meals, this all-inclusive trek allows you to leave with a relaxed mind to discover our beautiful region.
On the first day, hikers start their journey in Charmey. A beautiful route leads to the alpine hut of L'Hauta Chia. Here, in the midst of nature, you enjoy a meal of local specialties. This exceptional setting is ideal for spending a wonderful evening with family or friends.
The second day begins with a delicious breakfast, followed by a discovery of cheese-making. This provides an opportunity for both young and old to learn about the milking and traditional cheese-making process in La Gruyère. A passionate cheesemaker will be there to reveal all the secrets of his craft. Discover cheese-making until August 20. After this date, the cows return to the plains.
After gaining the necessary strength for this second day of hiking, you head to the summit of La Berra. Once at the top, the 360-degree view offers exceptional landscapes over Lake La Gruyère, the Swiss plateau, and the Pre-Alps and Alps. La Berra provides an ideal setting for families with its playground, and the Chalet de La Berra welcomes you for a short break.
There are two possible routes to finish the trek. You can descend on the Charmey side along a pretty path bordering forests and pastures, or head to the village of La Roche.
The La Berra Offer awaits both small and large walkers, looking for beautiful views without too much difficulty. A 1:25,000 scale hiking map completes the offer, allowing you to know which place names you pass or which peaks you observe.
