A walk that will take you to the nature reserves of Grèves de la Motte and Grande Cariçaie.
The hike starts in the centre of Chabrey, to reach first the Grèves de la Motte nature reserve, on the edge of the cliff. The viewpoint is worth the diversions. Then it's downhill, slippery in case of rain, to the banks of Lake Neuchâtel and the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve.
This is the largest marsh bordering a lake in Switzerland. It is home to about a quarter of the country's flora and fauna. You will have plenty of time to make your observations along the path that leads to Portalban.
The route rises again on the heights of Delley, before arriving at the playground, with a slide and barbecue area. If you feel like it, extend the walk in the Bois de Charmontel before returning to the centre of Chabrey.
