In winter, the Gastlosen are the scene of a surprising spectacle. The Grossmutterloch, literally grandmother's hole, lets the sun's rays through a crack in the rock, like a fireball.
According to legend, this cavity in the Gastlosen is the work of the devil. Angry with his grandmother, he propelled her through the mountain wall. With Véronique Borcard-Pury, mountain guide, set off on the trail of the solar star. As with any natural phenomenon, there are many parameters to take into account. So you'll need to be lucky, and there's no guarantee of anything other than a magnificent hike! A picnic of Park-labelled products can be ordered.
