Perched at an altitude of 1888 m, with no access for vehicles, the Morteys mountain chalet is the highest in the canton of Fribourg where cheese is still made.
The Transtrad association, based in Charmey, still transports the cheese produced there by mule. Travelling with Inschi and Bisquine, the brave mules who are experienced in churning cheese, is an extraordinary adventure. Once the cheese has reached its destination, visit the Tzintre cellars and enjoy a friendly drink.
