Every Thursday morning, Bulle celebrates its traditions with a lively, gourmet and folkloric market in the heart of the town.
Market Place in Bulle
More than 250 stalls bring the Place du Marché to life in a typically Gruyère atmosphere.
From 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
Market Place brings together local products, regional specialities, crafts and local discoveries. A friendly, folkloric event with free admission, open to everyone.
Local craft demonstration
Throughout the morning, artisans bring the region’s traditional know-how to life. Wood carving, lace-making, blacksmithing, shingle-making and stained glass: each Thursday offers wonderful discoveries and shines a light on La Gruyère’s living heritage. Activities may vary depending on the date.
Production of Gruyère AOP
Watch Gruyère AOP being made live over a wood fire by the Chalet de la Confrérie du Gruyère. The cheese is expected to be taken out at around 11:00 am.

Musical entertainment
The market atmosphere continues with music, featuring folkloric performances throughout the morning. Alphorns, traditional music and bell ringers bring a festive, typically Gruyère touch to the event.

The Folkloric Market takes place in the heart of Bulle, on Place du Marché and Grand-Rue. Easily accessible on foot from the train station, it can also be reached by public transport or by car, thanks to the car parks located near the town centre. On Thursday mornings, it can get busy: we recommend using public transport or allowing a little extra time for your arrival.
