Walk through the undulating, wooded landscape of the Intyamon, with some wonderful features including a covered bridge, the village of Lessoc and its famous fountain, the waterfall and cave in Grandvillard, before heading off to the mountain pastures and the wild environment of the Vanil Noir.
As you leave Montbovon, head towards the lake and walk along its left bank. Follow the path that leads to the village of Lessoc, passing two bridges over the Sarine, including a covered one with a shingle roof. In the centre of Lessoc, dominated by the famous fountain with the roof of silver tiles, the route takes you towards the church. Continue for 400 metres and then take a path to your right. Once you reach the hamlet of Le Bu, a brief detour to the octagonal chapel is worth the time. Be careful not to set off again along the road: the path continues slightly higher up, towards the Comb’Arimbourg, and then Grandvillard. As you reach the village, the path continues to the right of the historic Maison du Banneret, towards the wayside cross (point 936). Follow the road and then enter the forest. After you have crossed the stream, there is a path to the left. This runs alongside the Rio des Marais stream as far as a new road, which it crosses. You will then see the Chalet des Baudes and the car park of the same name. The path follows the road, which is suitable for vehicles, as far as La Coudré. From there, a path climbs up to the Bounavau hut. Binoculars are recommended to observe the prolific wildlife in this Pro Natura reserve.
Tip: Contemplate the fauna of the Pro Natura reserve. Do not forget to look the covered bridge of Lessoc, the waterfall, cave and house “du Banneret” in Grandvillard.
